We are a small company in the world of tech. But with a lot of hard work and dedication, we have been able to build Huddle Labs into one of the most unique & productive startups in Silicon Valley. We have offices in both Mountain View and Mpls, with employees working as advisors, venture capital partners, and general managers. The founders are all original Huddle Labs employees. We’re also part of an ecosystem that is expanding at a rapid pace: our technology has been adopted by numerous industry players including Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Uber, and many more. So much so that our primary competitor is now called ClearView — the first voice search app that works on multiple devices simultaneously!
Huddle Labs and ClearView A little background
When we got the first word of ClearView’s launch, we were already working on something big. In 2006, we launched Hoopster, the first ever professional real-time mapmaking app. It only took a few months for Hoopster to hit version 3.0, but we promptly put it into the drawer and forgot about it. After Hoopster, we were consumed by building software — so much so that we didn’t even think about maintenance. Then, in 2007, we hit a turning point in our journey — the release of YouTube. We were instantly transformed by the new and rapidly expanding video platform and the opportunities it represented. We were so taken by the potential of YouTube that we quickly became a YouTube partner. That partnership continues to this day, and we have a huge track record of working with tech startups and launch teams that have found success on YouTube vegamovies.
How we got here: early days of voice search
We had been talking to a few teams interested in investing in the startup. But it was at this point that we met Paul, the man behind ClearView. Paul had been working for Facebook for the past few years, and during that time, he had developed a distinct mindset, using the company’s founding values of integrity, empathy, and transparency to build a great company. We knew that Paul had the expertise and the connections to build a great company — and we also knew that he had great plans for the future. So, when Paul first mentioned the idea of a voice-driven search app, we jumped at the chance to work with him. We quickly became members of the Facebook community, and Paul was one of the first people we connected with in the lead-up to the launch of Facebook Home. Since then, we’ve been working with him on a few other projects, in addition to our regularly scheduled tasks digitalnewshour.
The mission of Huddle Labs
To create a voice-driven search app that anyone could use. To provide real-time search results and recommendations from the app. To be accessible for users of all platforms. To be user-friendly. To be scalable odishadiscoms.
ClearView: launching a hit product
When we met Paul, we were both on a mission to create a top-notch search app that would deliver results quickly and accurately. We were determined to deliver an experience that would make usage possible for everyone — regardless of device, voice usage, or location — and that would be personalized to each user. To achieve this, we focused on building a solution that was user-friendly and scalable. We quickly became experts in scalability and popularity, having achieved 77% growth in one year. We set out to create the best search app available, one that could be used on multiple devices and platforms, while still being super easy to use and understand. We knew that this would require working with large scale app developers, but we also knew that it would be feasible to create a solution that could scale up and down as needed.
All about to-do lists today
We have quite a few to-do lists, but today’s we focus on what we do best, which is team building. On our team build day, we talk about the challenges we’ve encountered, the solutions we’ve discovered, and how we’re working to overcome them. We also talk about how we’re using the techniques we’ve learned in the lead-up to launch, and what we’re hoping to see from our team this year.
