    AnthonyBy AnthonyJuly 11, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

As the seasons move from one to the next, the weather also changes and sometimes may become colder, where most people find themselves experiencing health problems and have to keep using their handkerchiefs. During this cold season, cold and flu are common illnesses that affect people and leave them feeling miserable for some time.

If you are a victim of Argyle cold/flu, you need to minimize the symptoms and improve your immune system. The doctor will help you differentiate between a cold and flu and offer the ideal treatment to help you regain your health. Although the told illnesses have some differences, here are a few symptoms to look out for when having a cold or flu.

    Sore Throat

A sore throat is one of the most common symptoms and signs of a cold or flu. One will begin by feeling scratchy and uncomfortable in their throat to the extent of experiencing difficulty while swallowing anything, be it saliva or food. A sore throat occurs due to the inflammation of throat tissues as the body tries to fight off the virus that comes with the cold or flu. The feeling is uncomfortable as one feels like they do not want to eat to avoid that feeling and painful experience.

    Runny or Stuffy Nose

When a cold or flu gets to your system, you experience a runny or stuffy nose. This occurs in the process of the body fighting the virus in the body hence leading to more mucus production. You may experience a heavy running nose as the virus affects the body. In the event of a runny or stuffy nose, you may experience a constantly running nose, or sometimes the nose may block and make you have difficulty breathing through the nose.

    Cough

Whether you have a cold or flu, you will experience a persistent cough that grows stronger as the virus progresses and the symptoms persist. In most cases, a cough occurs due to throat or lung irritation and may be worsened by postnasal drips. Cough may be severe such that you can experience chest discomfort or even produce wheezing sounds while breathing.

    Fatigue

A cold or flu may make you feel tired or run down. The reason is due to the repercussions of the immune response, which consumes a lot of body energy. You will experience a sluggish feeling and want to rest without doing anything due to the weak feeling in the body.

    Fever

Fever is a common symptom of the flu but less common for people with colds. The symptoms occur when the body works hard to fight the virus from the illness. The body temperatures rise above your body’s normal temperatures, where you feel burning and sweating even when the weather is not hot. The feeling causes discomfort and requires you to see the doctor for treatment.

A cold or flu may seem like a mild illness, but its numerous symptoms may affect your daily productivity. When you experience some of the outlined symptoms, you either have a cold or flu and should seek medical assistance. The doctor will examine and diagnose the exact condition after conducting tests. Understanding the common symptoms can help you prevent the spread, stay healthy and seek immediate treatment before the condition worsens.
